I think it is cool. Endosulfan is the only surviving pesticide that is safe on pollinators and beneficials. Both pollinators and beneficials help us grow foods and saving the two is impossible without Endosulfan. Pesticides are having toxicity levels and this particular is comparable to Neem. Which is why it is being targeted by EU for elimination so that profits in European companies get pushed and agricultural economies ensure their recovery from recession. We need to support good products all ways! Endosulfan has targeted by some activism which is funded by lobbyists at EU to kick out Endosulfan. I think the band with this name will tell the story how chemicals are used to save humans from food crisis but they are also used to create a food crisis - by controlling the supply and demand! WE NEED ENDOSULFAN!!!

Endosulfan is a organochlorine compound that is used as an insecticide and acaricide. This colourless solid has emerged as a highly controversial agrichemical[1] due to its acute toxicity, potential for bioaccumulation, and role as an endocrine disruptor. Banned in more than 50 countries, including the European Union and several Asian and West African nations,[2] it is still used extensively in many other countries including India, Brazil, and Australia. It is produced by Bayer CropScience, Makhteshim Agan, and government-of-India-owned Hindustan Insecticides Limited among others. Because of its threats to the environment, a global ban on the use and manufacture of endosulfan is being considered under the Stockholm Convention.[3]

The comment beginning "I think it is cool," was obliviously posted by the Indian endosulfan industry. It's 100% lies.

Lies? Dude! You think these Indians do such things? I heard of conspiracy theory origining in the USA never India! Interesting! But I found this link check on these links http://article.wn.com/view/2009/11/30/European_Union_wants_endosulfan_banned/

Hey 'it is cool'. Really. We use it as ear tags on cows. it works great to keep pests out and cows healthy! Absolutely safe on cows and looks great as ear-rings.

'the endosulfan' is a heavy-duty groovy name for a rock band!
the world surely needs more music, love, food and medicines at affordable prices.
there should be zero tolerence to this exploitation by few at the cost of humanity
boo to eu!
glory be 'the endosulfan'

Dear End Endosulfan...as European citizen I do respect your opinion, however one doesn't have to be indian to see what countries are trying to make people starve and kill the bees.
EU is introducing more and more new fantastic pesticides, like clothianidin...and where does it bring the honey bee? DEATH. And the same thing is going to happen to us. Albert Einstein said after the bee dies people will have 4 years. If U did some more useful research u would know it's 10 what we have. But it's still very less time.I don't know what lobby is paying you so write such things, but look into your soul and see starving people now in Africa...do You want your family, friends, neighbors to be in the same situation in some time?

Thousands of industrial chemicals are synthesized and sold in the market worldwide. It is said that most of these substances are “resistant to natural degradation processes so they gradually accumulate in the environment and are distributed across the globe on currents of wind and water. As a result, a cocktail of these hundreds of thousands of man-made chemicals can now be found absolutely anywhere on the planet, from the deep oceans to the peaks of Himalayas, from the River Ganga to our own bloodstreams.
The basis of the Stockholm Convention is the belief that POPs are associated with a number of problems in humans and animals including, several types of cancer, reproductive dysfunction, birth defects, developmental problems e.g. diminished IQ and neurological disorders.
Endosulfan - so called endocrine disrupting chemical is a widely used cyclodiene (organ chlorine) pesticide worldwide, and it is said to block neuronal GABAA-gated chloride channels in mammals and aquatic organisms. It is said that Endosulfan and its metabolites, such as Endosulfan sulfate, are persistent in environments and are considered as toxic chemicals. For bioremediation of Endosulfan and its metabolites, several studies were made to find out / isolate Endosulfan and Endosulfan sulfate degrading bacteriums from polluted-polluted agricultural soils of Gujarat region (India) and organic manure / compost – most Indian framers use in their fields. Our results / observations suggest that some of the Pseudomonas sp. has potential as a biocatalyst for Endosulfan bioremediation. The degradation ratios for endosulfan were 72 % within two weeks of application of Pesticide in the field, and degradation of Endosulfan sulfate in a separate pot-experiment was observed 56 %.
In conclusion, these properties suggest that the problems associated with the insecticide is not as serious as people around the world are crying, the use of insecticide has much lower residue problems then claimed and the pesticide retain the advantages to IPM strategies unique to the current Endosulfan formulation. Movements to ban the pesticide are in fact politics of economics of European Union and U S nations, and not the concern of ecology as it is blamed.
