Woeful Conception

Backstory:
Woeful Conception was birthed in the dingy basements of Marrickville, Sydney, in late 2015. The band is composed of four members: Braden “Brave” Davies, the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist, who was once a travelling poet; “Titan” Tim Thorne, the bassist, a former wrestler who found solace in music; “Mad” Maxine Miller, the drummer and backing vocalist, a defunct painter who decided to create music instead of visual arts; and “Shadowy” Sean Olsen, the enigmatic lead guitarist who used to be a chess prodigy. The band members, who were all grappling with their personal demons, found hope and strength in their shared love for music, thus giving birth to Woeful Conception.

Having spent countless nights jamming in their basement, the band started to gain a local following. Their initial performances were raw and emotionally charged, drawing the crowd towards their unique sound. Over time, the band’s music began to reflect their shared experiences of struggle, loss, and eventual triumph, resonating with their listeners on a much deeper level.
