Insistent Specialist

Backstory:

Insistent Specialist was born out of an edgy garage in the industrial heart of Pittsburgh, where four vastly different musicians found a common ground in their love for unconventional sounds. The band members – Greg (vocals and bass), a former opera house stagehand; Samantha (lead guitar), a disgraced classical violinist; Roger (drums), an ex-jazz club bouncer; and Lily (keyboard), a runaway circus performer – happened upon each other in an open-mic night in 2009. Their unique backgrounds meshed to form a sound that was unlike any other, and they instantly knew they had the foundation for something monumental.

Over the years, Insistent Specialist has faced everything from eviction threats due to their loud rehearsals, to losing (and regaining) their drummer Roger after a brief stint in rehab. Through it all, their shared passion for music and their brotherly love for one another has kept them going. They have etched their name in the annals of Pittsburgh’s local music scene and are now poised to break into the mainstream.
