1. Backstory:
Formed in 2015, Growing Student is a group of four high school friends from the heartland of Ohio. The band consists of vocalist and lead guitarist Jake Sullivan, drummer Taylor Roberts, bass guitarist Sam Cooper, and keyboardist Alex Turner. Inspired by their shared love of music and the trials and tribulations of adolescence, Growing Student started out by performing covers of their favorite bands at school events. One day, they decided to experiment with original songs, infusing them with their own unique musical sensibilities, and the rest, as they say, is history. They’ve been captivating audiences across the Midwest with their sublime melodies and heartfelt lyrics, all while balancing their passion for music with the rigors of academic life.
