1. Backstory

Virtuous Constraint was born out of the chaos of the 2008 economic recession. Childhood friends, Shawn Leonard and Kyle Stevens, were just two ordinary guys from Chicago making their way through life when the economy tanked. Struggling to keep their jobs, they found solace in creating music that reflected their reality. Their music found resonance in people dealing with similar situations, and thus, Virtuous Constraint came into existence. Drawing inspiration from the experiences of life’s ups and downs, their music became the voice of the everyday American trying to make ends meet.
