Backstory:
Somber Paint was formed in a small town in Kentucky, where four friends with a shared love for music came together. The year was 2009, and the bandmates were all still in high school. The group started out by playing covers of their favorite songs in their parents’ garages, and through this, they discovered that they had an undeniable chemistry. With the combination of Logan on drums, Matt on bass, Sarah on keys and vocals, and Jake on guitar and lead vocals, they decided to take their shared hobby to the next level.
After high school, the group moved to Nashville to fully commit to their music. They played in small bars and venues while working part-time jobs to pay the rent. In 2015, they were discovered by a local record producer who saw their performance at an open-mic night. Since then, they have been recording and performing original music, charming the world with their unique sound.

Title:
“Shades of Grey”
Full Song Lyrics:
Verse 1: (Am, G, F, C)
In a town of black and white, we found our shades of grey, (Am, G)
Tracing outlines of our hearts, in the silence of the day. (F, C)
Through the rustling of the leaves, and the quiet hum of night, (Am, G)
We painted every moment, with our somber hues of light. (F, C)
Chorus: (G, Am, C, F)
Shades of grey, in our somber paint, (G, Am)
Casting shadows on a canvas, where color is quaint. (C, F)
In these hues, we find our truth, (G, Am)
Underneath the twilight, in the echoes of our youth. (C, F)
Verse 2: (Am, G, F, C)
We found beauty in the bland, and harmony in discord, (Am, G)
In the murmur of the creek, and the whisper of the ford. (F, C)
In the hush of the wind, and the sigh of the trees, (Am, G)
We found our song, in the quiet symphony. (F, C)
Chorus: (G, Am, C, F)
Shades of grey, in our somber paint, (G, Am)
Crafting stories on a canvas, where color is quaint. (C, F)
In these hues, we find our truth, (G, Am)
Beneath the starlight, in the echoes of our youth. (C, F)
Favorite Fan:
Their favorite fan’s name is Emily. Emily fell in love with Somber Paint when she first heard them perform at a small club in Nashville. The raw emotion in their music and their authentic, down-to-earth persona resonated deeply with her. “Their music is like a breath of fresh air,” she says. “They’re not afraid to express their feelings, and their songs always hit me right in the feels. Their music has accompanied me through the best and worst times of my life. They’re not just a band to me, they’re like friends who’ve always been there, through their music.”
