Near Stuff

Backstory:
Near Stuff, a musical ensemble, was born out of the sheer passion and love for music in the quiet, sleepy town of Spokane, Washington. The four-member band was formed in 2007 when high school friends, Caleb, Liam, Noah, and Adam stumbled upon a shared love for music. These four friends used to hang around in their school music room, practicing after classes and dreaming of touching the world with their music. Once they graduated, they decided to bring their dream to life and that’s how Near Stuff came into existence. Their journey wasn’t just about making hit tracks and selling albums, rather it was an artistic endeavor that brought four friends closer and gave them a chance to express their thoughts, feelings, and shared experiences through their music.

Title:
“Chasing Shadows”

Full song lyrics:

(Verse 1)
[Em]Lost in the city lights, [C]chasing our heartbeats
[G]Running wild under the stars, [D]feeling so free
[Em]Looking for answers in the [C]depth of the night
[G]We were just boys back then, [D]living our dreams, so bright

(Chorus)
We’re [G]chasing shadows, [D]dancing in the dark
[Em]Living the moments, [C]leaving our mark
[G]Chasing shadows, [D]underneath the moonlight
[Em]No worries for tomorrow, [C]just living the night.

(Verse 2)
[Em]Remember the promise, [C]made in the twilight
[G]Of staying together, [D]fighting for what’s right
[Em]The journey was long, [C]the path full of fright
[G]But we held on, [D]with all our might.

(Chorus)
We’re [G]chasing shadows, [D]dancing in the dark
[Em]Living the moments, [C]leaving our mark
[G]Chasing shadows, [D]underneath the moonlight
[Em]No worries for tomorrow, [C]just living the night.

Favorite Fan:
Our favorite fan is a 17-year-old girl named Emily. Emily discovered us during a hard time in her life and our music became her solace. She wrote to us, “Near Stuff’s music became a source of comfort to me during a period of my life when I felt everything was falling apart. Their song ‘Chasing Shadows’ reminded me that it’s okay to live in the moment and not worry about tomorrow. That was something I needed to hear. I feel like their music understands me and speaks directly to my soul. They’re not just a band to me, they’ve become my friends, my family. They’re my favorite because they make me feel less alone in this world.”
