Backstory:
Scholarly Exception came together when four university students studying different disciplines discovered their shared passion for music. The lead vocalist, Greg, was studying literature, bassist Pete was going through his doctoral thesis in physics, drummer Jack was a psychology major, and the keyboardist, Lily, was an art history student. During a late-night study session in a 24/7 campus library, they ended up jamming in the quiet zone using nothing but textbooks, pens and their voices. Soon they started playing at local gigs and campus parties, their music evoking a deep connection with their listeners. Their unique backgrounds and academic pursuits found their way into their music, adding a layer of intelligent depth rarely seen in bands.
