Punctual Surprise is a band that emerged from the bustling underground music scene in Chicago in 2008. The core members, lead vocalist and guitarist Jack Reynolds, drummer Stella Thompson, and keyboardist Oliver Green, met during their college years and bonded over their shared love for music. The name ‘Punctual Surprise’ was born out of an inside joke, with the bandmates often teasing Thompson about her diligent punctuality, which contrasted sharply with the surprises she delivered on the drums.

Their music journey started as a hobby, performing at college festivals, but their shared dream was to make it their profession. After they graduated, they continued playing at small gigs around town, catching the attention of a talent scout from an independent music label.
