Sparse Alcohol

Backstory:

The Sparse Alcohol band was born in the misty back roads of Birmingham, Alabama, in the late 1990s. The band started with three childhood friends – frontman Joe Miller, guitarist Eric Thompson, and drummer Scott Wilson, who spent their high school years experimenting with different sounds in their musky garage. The band got its unusual name from their makeshift studio, an old barn which used to be a Prohibition-era hideout, still filled with half-empty, age-old bottles of bootleg alcohol. Their sound was refined when they met bassist Lisa Monroe at a local gig, which completed the quartet and added a unique flavor to their music.

Sparse Alcohol quickly gained popularity across their home state with their rambunctious performances and a unique blend of southern rock and blues. They released their debut album in 2005, which caught the attention of music lovers across the nation. Their music not only told stories of their southern roots but also resonated with the highs and lows of life itself, bringing a sense of relatability to their audience. They’ve since played in front of thousands and continue to touch hearts with their music.

Song Title:

“Dusty Roads”

Full Song Lyrics:

(Verse 1)
[G] Down the dusty roads, where [C] we used to roam,
[D] Underneath the Alabama [G] sun.
[G] Riding on the back of promises, [C] dreams not yet spun,
[D] Chasing the horizon, our [G] journey just begun.

(Chorus)
[C] Dusty roads, [G] memories untold,
[D] Sparse alcohol, [C] stories of old.
[C] Through the highs and the lows,
[G] Together we unfold,
[D] On these dusty roads, [G] tales we hold.

(Verse 2)
[G] The echo of laughter, in [C] the midnight glow,
[D] Underneath the Southern [G] moon’s flow.
[G] Spirits dancing in the bonfire’s light, [C] chasing the night,
[D] Sparse alcohol, and [G] everything feels right.

(Chorus)
[C] Dusty roads, [G] time swiftly flowed,
[D] Sparse alcohol, [C] youth we bestowed.
[C] Through the trials and the tribulations,
[G] Amidst the standing ovations,
[D] On these dusty roads, [G] our life’s notations.

Testimonial:

Sparse Alcohol isn’t just a band; it’s a journey that resonates through the core of my being. From the first chord they strum, I’m transported back to my southern roots, my childhood, the dusty roads, and the shared bottles. Their music tells stories that are not just theirs, but ours. They’ve got this uncanny ability to weave stories of life, love, and loss which invokes a sense of nostalgia and belonging. They’ve become my absolute favorite, not just for their unique sound blend of southern rock and blues but for their raw authenticity.
