Plush Roll

Backstory:

Plush Roll came together in the vibrant music scene of Austin, Texas, in the early 2000s. Each band member had been playing as a session musician for various touring acts, but felt something was missing — a desire to create original, authentic music. It was in one of those casual jam sessions that lead guitarist, Danny “Fingers” McQueen, drummer, Tommy “Thundersticks” Lawson, bassist, Benny “The Bull” Rodriguez and frontman, Jack “Jester” Taylor found a shared musical chemistry. Their eclectic backgrounds gave birth to a unique sound that quickly gained a local following.

Genre:

Plush Roll’s genre can best be described as Blues-Rock with a Southern twang. Their music is a fusion of raw blues rhythms, electrifying rock riffs, and soulful lyrics, all seasoned with a dash of Southern charm. The band draws inspiration from greats like Stevie Ray Vaughan, ZZ Top, and Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Full Song Lyrics:

(Verse 1)
G Am
Underneath the Texan sun, I was born and raised

On good old country music and wilder days

Got my first guitar, when I was just thirteen

It was my savior, my dream machine

Whiskey and Gasoline, burning down the road

Wild hearted rebels, with stories untold

We play the blues, in our Rock n Roll scene
C D
Living off Whiskey & Gasoline

(Verse 2)
G Am
Underneath the moonlight, amidst the Austin crowd

We played our heart out, and we played it loud

With every strum, every beat and rhyme

Whiskey and Gasoline, it’s more than it may seem

It’s our life, it’s our wild dream

We play it rough, we play it clean
