Leafy Companion was formed in a small, rustic town of Oakville, where childhood friends Gary (vocals and guitar) and Ben (drums) discovered their shared love for music under the shade of an old oak tree. They spent their teenage years honing their skills, using the natural serenity and beauty of their surroundings as their muse. As they grew older, they were joined by Claire (bass guitar and backing vocals) and Sam (keyboard). The group drew inspiration from nature, love, and the simple joys of life, which are reflected in their lyrics and melodies. The name ‘Leafy Companion’ was chosen as a tribute to the huge oak tree under which they had their first jam session, a constant companion throughout their journey.
