Measly Country

Backstory:

Measly Country is a band of dreamers and strivers who came together in a small town in Kansas. Each of the five members – Joe (guitarist), Lisa (vocalist), Mike (drummer), Sarah (keyboardist), and Rick (bassist) – had day jobs but music was their shared passion. After long days at work, they would gather in Joe’s garage, write songs, and practice their hearts out. Their shared struggles and dreams created a unique bond between them and it echoed in their music. Joe was the one who came up with the band’s name, Measly Country, symbolizing their modest beginnings and deep roots in country music.

Title: Chasing Sunsets

Full song lyrics:

(Verse 1)
[G] Out in the farmland where the [C] wheat grows tall,
[D] We had dreams bigger than the [G] town hall,
[G] Worked our hands to the bone, [C] under the midday sun,
[D] Waiting for the day’s end, [G] when the music was fun.

(Chorus)
Chasing [C] Sunsets, down the old town road,
Under the [G] starlight, where our dreams unfold,
With [D] guitars strumming, and hearts ablaze,
In this [G] Measly Country, we found our [D] place.

(Verse 2)
[G] Lisa sang like an angel, [C] under the old oak tree,
[D] Mike kept the rhythm, [G] wild and free,
[G] Sarah’s keys would dance, [C] Rick’s bass would roam,
[D] In that old garage, [G] we found our home.

(Chorus)
Chasing [C] Sunsets, by the old rail tracks,
With the [G] moonlight, on our worn out backs,
With [D] songs of hope, and tales of our days,
In this [G] Measly Country, we found our [D] ways.
