Backstory:
In the industrial heartland of Sheffield, four friends banded together to create something unique and powerful out of their shared love for music. Aaron ‘Ace’ Jones, Danny ‘Damage’ Smith, Jenna ‘Jazz’ Taylor, and Kevin ‘Keys’ Martin found each other in school in 2010, drawn together by their outcast status and a shared kindred passion for the raw, unfiltered energy of punk rock. With Ace on guitar, Damage on drums, Jazz on bass, and Keys on, well, keys, Tedious Symptom was born. Embracing the complex emotions and experiences of the world around them, they wanted to create music that would resonate with like-minded people, reflecting the pulse of their generation.

Title:
“Steel City Blues”
Full Song Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
E5
Sheffield nights, they are long and cold,
D5
Steel city blues, stories untold.
A5
Factories shut, dreams are sold,
E5
In this city, where we grow old.
(Verse 2)
E5
We wear our hearts on our tattered sleeves,
D5
In this city, where nobody leaves.
A5
Our dreams are big, though they deceive,
E5
In this city, we believe.
(Chorus)
G5
Steel City Blues, we sing loud,
D5
Our voices rise above the crowd.
A5
Unity in the disallowed,
E5
In this city, we are proud.
(Verse 3)
E5
The work is hard, the pay is low,
D5
Steel city blues, dancing slow.
A5
They may try to bring us low,
E5
But in this city, we still grow.
(Chorus)
G5
Steel City Blues, we play strong,
D5
In this city, where we belong.
A5
Our voices unified in song,
E5
In this city, we are one.
Band’s Favorite Fan:
Our biggest fan, without a doubt, is a guy named Billy Johnson. Billy found our music during a low period in his life, and he says that our song “Steel City Blues” helped him feel less alone. Billy’s testimonial reads, “Tedious Symptom is not just a band, they’re my salvation. Their lyrics speak to me on a deep level, as if they’re singing about my life. I’ve never felt this connected to a band before. Their raw energy and powerful music is a lifeline during my darkest hours. I’m forever grateful for them.” This is why we make music – for fans like Billy.
