Backstory:
Agonizing Hair came together in the mid-1990s in Seattle, Washington. The founding members, lead singer Ivan Radcliffe and drummer Randy Jones, were former high school classmates who reconnected years later in a dusty record store. After bonding over their shared love of unconventional music and eclectic vinyl records, they decided to form their own band. They were later joined by bassist Freddy Hall and guitarist Kevin McAllister, two local musicians who were looking to break away from the conventional music scene. The band’s name was inspired by a joke Radcliffe made about a particularly bad hair day he had.
Genre:
The band’s music falls into the genre of Alternative Rock with a hint of Grunge, featuring intense and raw performances that echo the post-punk influences of the late ’80s and early ’90s.
