Backstory:
Knobby Class was formed in 2012, in the heart of Detroit, Michigan. The band initially consisted of five high school friends, Timmy “Knob” Norton on vocals, brothers Chris and Matt “Class” Johnson on guitar and bass, Jennifer “Jen” Andrews on drums, and Carson “Keys” Kelly on keyboard. Inspired by their shared love for music and a desire to escape the monotony of their 9-5 jobs, they began their journey in Timmy’s garage, creating a unique sound that would soon take the local music scene by storm.
Over time, Knobby Class began to attract attention, not just for their eclectic sound, but also for their energizing live performances, characterized by the powerful and expressive vocals of Timmy and the captivating guitar riffs of Chris and Matt. Their popularity grew, and they soon found themselves performing at larger venues, leading to their signing with an indie record label in 2014. Despite their success, Knobby Class has remained grounded, always remembering their humble beginnings and the love for music that brought them together.

Title:
“Paper Hearts”
Full Song Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
[G] I found a paper heart [C] in the drawer today,
[Em] Torn and faded, but [D] still had your name.
[G] You wrote our love story [C] in a crimson hue,
[Em] A tale of innocence, [D] of me and you.
(Chorus)
[G] Paper hearts, [C] paper dreams,
[Em] We’ve come apart [D] at the seams.
[G] But I remember [C] when you and I,
[Em] Could touch the sky, [D] didn’t have to try.
(Verse 2)
[G] We drew our future [C] on a coffee stained map,
[Em] Tracing lines of [D] love, avoiding the trap.
[G] But time had other plans, [C] it wore us thin,
[Em] Our paper hearts [D] couldn’t hold us in.
(Chorus)
[G] Paper hearts, [C] paper dreams,
[Em] We’ve come apart [D] at the seams.
[G] But I remember [C] when you and I,
[Em] Could touch the sky, [D] didn’t have to try.
(Bridge)
[G] I’m holding on to [C] every shred,
[Em] Every word that [D] we ever said.
[G] Maybe this paper heart [C] could mend again,
[Em] Or perhaps it’s time [D] to let it end.
(Chorus)
[G] Paper hearts, [C] paper dreams,
[Em] We’ve come apart [D] at the seams.
[G] But I remember [C] when you and I,
[Em] Could touch the sky, [D] didn’t have to try.
Ending Verse
[G] I found a paper heart [C] in the drawer today,
[Em] Torn and faded, but [D] still had your name.
