Barren Suspicion

Backstory:

Barren Suspicion was born in a dusty, small-town garage of Bakersfield, California. The four-piece band was comprised of childhood friends: Luke Jacobs (Lead Vocals, Guitar), Mason Cook (Bass Guitar), Zachary Owen (Drums) and Jake Walker (Lead Guitar). Their friendship was forged in their shared love for music and the dream to break free from their insular lives. They began by playing at local bars and county fairs, their raw energy and passion capturing the attention of both young and old. Their breakthrough came when a low-fi recording of their track landed in the hands of an LA music producer who was visiting family in Bakersfield. He was so moved by their sound that he immediately signed them to his label and thus, their journey began.

Title:
“Edge of Shadows”

Full Song Lyrics:

(Verse 1)
Am Em G D
Under the moon’s hazy glow, we dance in the shadows,
Am Em G D
Lost in time, caught in between the echoes and tomorrow.

(Chorus)
Em G D A
On the edge of shadows, we find our redemption,
Em G D A
In the darkened hollows, lie our barren suspicions.

(Verse 2)
Am Em G D
In the mirror of the night, we see our true reflections,
Am Em G D
Haunted by the light, we’re prisoners of our own deceptions.

(Chorus)
Em G D A
On the edge of shadows, we seek our salvation,
Em G D A
Through the misty meadows, runs our silent insurrection.

(Bridge)
C Em G D
In this endless night, we find our revelation,
C Em G D
In the heart’s twilight, beats our desolation.

(Chorus)
Em G D A
On the edge of shadows, we find our liberation,
Em G D A
Escaping the gallows, of our barren suspicions.

The band’s favorite fan – Stacy James:

“I’ve followed Barren Suspicion since their early days, performing in run-down bars. Their music speaks to the heart, echoing the struggles, hopes, and dreams we all have but often can’t express. Their lyrics are poetry, and their melodies are like a comforting blanket on a cold night. I’m not just a fan, I feel like I am part of their journey, their music always there in my darkest and brightest moments. Barren Suspicion isn’t just my favorite band; they’re a part of my life’s soundtrack.”
