Cruel Trader

Backstory:
Cruel Trader was formed in the heart of New York City, during the sweltering summer of 2012. The band members, lead singer Jay Reeves, bassist Marcus Lewis, drummer Casey Walker and guitarist Danny Stevenson, met in an obscure underground music club, where their shared love for music, and a mutual desire to change the world with their sound, united them. They started off small, performing in local bars before they struck gold with their very first EP, propelling them into the limelight of the music industry. Their journey wasn’t without its ups and downs, but their determination and undying love for music kept them going, and they’ve since become the band that everyone loves to love.

[C] Lost in the [Am] city lights, [Dm] whispers of the [G] night

[C] Shadows in the [Am] light, [Dm] we are but [G] the night
[C] Cruel traders [Am] of love, [Dm] losing what’s [G] right.

(Verse 2)
[C] Love is a [Am] wicked game, [Dm] a trade-off of [G] pain
[C] In the dark alleys [Am] of the heart, [Dm] where shadows [G] remain

[Em] Trapped in this [Am] loveless trade, [Dm] dancing in the [G] rain

[C] Shadows in the [Am] light, [Dm] we are but [G] the night
[C] Cruel traders [Am] of love, [Dm] losing what’s [G] right.

Favorite Fan:
Molly Sanders, a college student from New York, is the band’s favorite fan. Molly has been following Cruel Trader since their early performances in small bars around the city. She says, “Cruel Trader is my favorite band because their music speaks to me in ways I didn’t think were possible. Their songs are raw, emotional, and so real; it’s like they’re telling my story. I’ve been to all their concerts, have all their merch, and even got the chance to meet them in person. They’re genuinely amazing people, and their music has been my solace during tough times. Cruel Trader isn’t just a band to me; they’re a part of who I am.”
