Backstory:
Pitiful Code was formed in a small, cramped garage in Seattle, Washington, in the late 1990s. The band members were four young, tech-enthusiast high school friends – Jackson on the guitar, Hayden on the drums, Dalton on the bass, and frontman Lucas with his distinctive, gravelly voice and a knack for writing lyrics. They had spent countless evenings together in that garage, coding for fun and dreaming of creating the next big software. It was during one of these long nights of coding, that they discovered their shared love for music, a passion that rivaled their love for tech.
Their path from coding geeks to rock stars wasn’t smooth sailing. But, their debut performance at a local bar saw an overwhelmingly ecstatic response from the crowd. The music was raw, the lyrics a poetic rendition of their struggles and dreams, resonating with the audience. Thus began the journey of Pitiful Code, a name they chose to symbolize their initial failed coding attempts, and a homage to their roots.

Title:
“Coded In My DNA”
Full Song Lyrics:
[Intro]
Am C G D
[Verse 1]
Am C
I guess I was born with a bug in the system,
G D
Counting the pulses and lost in the rhythm.
Am C
Hours spent in the neon light,
G D
Coding dreams into the night.
[Chorus]
C G D Am
It’s in my blood, it’s in my veins,
C G D
This coded love, like summer rains.
C G D Am
Through every line, in every space,
C G D
This is my life, it’s coded in my DNA.
[Verse 2]
Am C
Strung out on Java, lost in the syntax,
G D
Chasing the dream, ignoring the facts.
Am C
Behind a screen I found my worth,
G D
In this digital world, I found my rebirth.
[Chorus]
C G D Am
It’s in my blood, it’s in my veins,
C G D
This coded love, like summer rains.
C G D Am
Through every line, in every space,
C G D
This is my life, it’s coded in my DNA.
Favorite fan:
Pitiful Code’s favorite fan is a young woman by the name of Sophia. Sophia, an undergraduate studying computer science at the University of Washington, discovered Pitiful Code during a local gig. She instantly connected with their lyrical prose, their exploration of life within the realms of tech.
Sophia’s testimonial: “Pitiful Code is not just a band for me, but a reflection of my own journey. Their music mirrors my struggles and triumphs in a language I understand best – the language of code. Each song feels like a personal conversation, a shared understanding of life, love, and code. They are more than my favorite band, they are my lifeline.”
