Usable Reference

Backstory:
Usable Reference started out in the small town of Linden, Idaho. The band was formed in 2012 by childhood friends Jack Millers and Ricky Stone. Jack, a self-taught guitarist, and Ricky, a passionate drummer, began by playing at local pubs and events. They were later joined by Sarah O’Connell, who added a new dimension to the band with her deep, soulful voice and knack for writing lyrics. Their music, which started out as a personal expression of their emotions and experiences, soon resonated with a larger audience, propelling them to the national stage. Despite their newfound fame, Usable Reference remains grounded and true to their small-town roots, and this authenticity is embedded in their music.

Title:
“Through the Rain”

Full Song Lyrics:

(Verse 1)
[G] I walked alone [C] under the stormy sky,
[G] Hoping for some sunlight [C] to clear my cloudy mind,
[D] In the midst of uncertainty, [Em] with no end in sight,
[A] I found solace in [D] the darkest night.

(Chorus)
[G] Through the rain, [C] I found my way,
[G] Through the pain, [C] I learned to say,
[D] Life is beautiful, [Em] even in gray,
[A] I’m stronger than [D] yesterday.

(Verse 2)
[G] Love comes and [C] goes, it’s a fickle tide,
[G] We get hurt, [C] we learn to hide,
[D] But in the depths of despair, [Em] we find our light,
[A] And rise up stronger, [D] ready to fight.

(Chorus)
[G] Through the rain, [C] I found my way,
[G] Through the pain, [C] I learned to say,
[D] Life is beautiful, [Em] even in gray,
[A] I’m stronger than [D] yesterday.

(Bridge)
[D] And so we walk, [Em] under the stormy sky,
[A] Not afraid, [D] ready to fly,
[G] Because we know, [C] after night comes day,
[D] And we’re stronger, [Em] in every way.

(Chorus)
[G] Through the rain, [C] I found my way,
[G] Through the pain, [C] I learned to say,
[D] Life is beautiful, [Em] even in gray,
[A] I’m stronger than… [D] yesterday.
