Yawning Visitor

Backstory:
Yawning Visitor was formed in the heart of the vibrant Toronto indie scene in 2014. The band consists of five childhood friends who grew up sharing the same love for alternative music and avant-garde art. Lead singer and lyricist, Jasper Sloan, drummer, Courtney Baker, bassist, Max Willis, guitarist, Erin Rhodes and keyboardist, Kieran James, decided to channel their shared passion into a music project that would stand out. They garnered attention after their self-produced EP was picked up by a local radio station, earning them a growing fan base. After two successful albums, the band continues to ride the wave of indie-pop, fueling listeners with their enticing dreamy vibes and thought-provoking lyrics.

The Band’s Favorite Fan:
The band’s favorite fan is a girl named Lily Adams. Lily stumbled upon Yawning Visitor’s music during a difficult period in her life. She felt an instant connection with their lyrics and sound, which she describes as “a heartfelt embrace in musical form”. The band’s song “Galaxies in Coffee Cups” became her anthem, helping her navigate through her struggles. Lily has since attended every gig she possibly could and even started an online fan club.
