Vacant Desk

Backstory:
Hailing from the heart of Seattle, Vacant Desk was initially just a duo of college friends who spent most of their free time in a cluttered garage, creating songs that were reflections of their raw emotions and experiences. The band’s name was born from a running joke about their drummer’s perpetually unoccupied desk at college. Bass guitarist and vocalist, Alex Thompson and drummer, Kyle Wilson, took their love for music seriously and decided to transform their fun pastime into a full-time pursuit. They later added guitarist, Sam Rodgers, and keyboardist, Jenna Williams, to the mix, solidifying the unique sound that defines Vacant Desk.

Leaning heavily into their Pacific Northwest roots, their music encapsulates the struggle of transitioning into adulthood, the nostalgia of college years, and the demands of modern life. Vacant Desk gained their first taste of fame when their demo tape was discovered by a local radio DJ who played their music on air. That exposure led to a record deal and their music resonated with audiences, earning them a strong fan base.
