Jumbo Expense

Backstory:

Jumbo Expense was formed in the sweltering summer of 2013 in the heart of Austin, Texas. The band began as a shared passion project between childhood friends, lead vocalist Scott “Scooter” McKinney, and drummer, Jesse “Jumbo” Davis. The duo, filling the stifling Texas nights with their eclectic sound, soon caught the attention of bassist, Lucy “Loose” Hamilton and guitarist, Zack “Zapper” Zimmerman, who took a chance on the duo and completed the quartet.

The band quickly gained recognition in the local scene for their distinctive sound and high energy performances. Their fame skyrocketed when their first independent album, “The Price to Pay”, gained national attention, earning them a spot in the Billboard Top 100. Now, with five successful albums under their belt, Jumbo Expense continues to conquer the music scene with their unrivaled talent and camaraderie.

Fan Testimonial:

My name is Ella Carter and I’ve been a massive fan of Jumbo Expense since their early days. Their music paints a picture of life’s truths that is so raw and relatable. They spin tales of love, loss, and the open road into melodies that speak to my soul. Their song ‘Chasing Neon’ especially resonates with me, it’s like they’ve put my heartache into words. The band’s energy on stage is contagious and their love for music is evident. There’s something comforting about the way they pour their heart into their music, it’s like they’re giving us a piece of themselves. That’s why they’re my favorite band.
