Backstory:
Grotesque Sport was formed in 2008, born from the raw energy and grit of the underground music scene of Seattle. The original trio consisted of high school friends Mike “Mikkey” Russo on vocals and guitar, Danny “Dazzler” Watson on bass, and Tom “T.Rex” Riddle on drums. Initially, they were just a garage band, using music as an outlet to vent about their frustrations and challenges as young adults. However, their unique sound and authentic lyrics soon began drawing attention, and they rose to local fame.
In 2011, they added a fourth member, Jenny “Jigsaw” Lee on the keyboard, marking a shift in their sound and transforming their dynamic. With her classically trained skills and the raw talent of the original trio, Grotesque Sport evolved into a band that was not only heard but felt. Their music became a beacon of hope and inspiration for all those who were navigating through the turbulence of their own lives, making them a beloved part of the music scene.
Genre:
Grotesque Sport identifies their music genre as Indie Rock with a hint of Punk.

“Twisted Ropes”
Full Song Lyrics:
[Verse 1]
G | Am | Em | C
I’m hanging by a thread, on twisted ropes of dread,
A broken compass in my hand, lost in no man’s land.
The world spins on its head, colors bleed out red,
I’m searching for a lifeline, in a sea of quicksand.
[Chorus]
G | C | D | G
Twisted ropes, twisted dreams,
Life’s not as simple, as it seems.
Burning bridges, nursing scars,
We’re all just prisoners, behind these bars.
[Verse 2]
G | Am | Em | C
The clock’s ticking loud and fast, shadows of the past,
We’re dancing on the edges, of a love that will not last.
Eyes closed, heart bare, gasping for air,
In this grotesque sport of life, is anyone there?
[Chorus]
G | C | D | G
Twisted ropes, twisted dreams,
Are we just puppets, pulled by unseen strings?
In this maze, we’re all lost,
Paying the unimaginable cost.
