Backstory:
Glum Transport was established in the mid-2000s in a small, artsy town in the Midwest, where the air smells of nostalgia and the drizzle never seems to stop. The founding members, Adam “Squints” Atkins and Grace “The Ghost” Galloway, were childhood friends united by their mutual love of music and their shared sense of melancholy. Both had experienced their fair share of heartbreak and hardship, and they found solace in creating music that spoke to their experiences. Over time, the band expanded to include drummer Ivy “Inkwell” Isley and bassist Danny “Dux” DeWitt. Each brought their own unique flavor to the mix, resulting in a distinctive sound that set Glum Transport apart from other bands in the local scene.
The band’s big break came when one of their demo tapes landed in the hands of an influential indie record producer who recognized the raw, emotional intensity of their music. After signing a record deal, Glum Transport began touring regionally, quickly gaining a devoted fan base attracted to their poignant lyrics and haunting melodies. Despite their success, the band remained grounded, often staying after shows to engage with fans and share stories.

Song Title:
“Silent Echoes”
Full Song Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
Am – Em – G – D
Where did we lose the road, where did we lose our way?
The map was torn, we walked alone, in silence, we did sway.
Our hearts becoming stones, our dreams fading to gray,
The silent echoes of our love, now a ghostly ballet.
(Chorus)
C – G – D – Em
Let the silent echoes ring, in the chambers of our heart,
The music we once used to sing, now tearing us apart.
But though the melody may sting, and the notes may seem too tart,
We’ll dance to the silent echoes, though it’s a somber art.
(Verse 2)
Am – Em – G – D
Remember when we bathed in promises and gentle looks,
The rhythm of our beating hearts, an uncomposed book.
Now all we have are empty words, and the love that we forsook,
The silent echoes of our love, a forgotten hook.
(Chorus)
C – G – D – Em
Let the silent echoes ring, in the chambers of our heart,
The music we once used to sing, now tearing us apart.
But though the melody may sting, and the notes may seem too tart,
We’ll dance to the silent echoes, though it’s a somber art.
Band’s favorite fan:
The band’s favorite fan is a woman named Emily. As an artist, Emily was drawn to Glum Transport’s raw lyrics and haunting melodies, which resonated with her own experiences. She was going through a rough patch when she first discovered their music, and their songs provided her with a form of solace and understanding that she couldn’t find elsewhere. Emily has been a dedicated fan ever since, making an effort to attend every concert within a 200-mile radius, and even designing a few of the band’s album covers. “Their music is a lifeline for me,” Emily says. “It’s raw, real, and relatable. It’s like they’ve translated my emotions into music. I can’t thank them enough for that.”
