Backstory:

Mediocre Celebration sprang out of the bustling coffee shop scene in downtown Portland, Oregon, in late 2012. Frontman and lead vocalist, Casey Jones, originally worked as a barista by day and an open mic performer by night. He eventually linked up with fellow musicians – bassist Heather ‘Dee’ Oliver, guitarist Jules ‘Jay’ Summers, and drummer Finn ‘Skip’ Scott – who were regular customers at the coffee shop. What initially started as jamming sessions after work hours, turned into something more substantial as they began to develop their unique sound and identity as a band.

Their rise to fame was far from immediate, but what made Mediocre Celebration stand out was their raw, relatable lyrics and their ability to turn the mundane into something worth celebrating. They honed their craft playing at local bars, college campus events, and eventually got their big break performing at the annual PDX Pop Now! Festival. Their infectious energy and distinctive sound quickly earned them a loyal following.
