Messy Injury

Backstory:
Messy Injury is the brainchild of three childhood best friends; Jake ‘J.T.’ Thomas on lead vocals, Liam ‘Liam’ Morgan on drums, and Max ‘Max’ Collins on bass. The trio began their musical journey back in their middle school years, practicing in their parents’ garages and writing songs influenced by the chaos and confusion of adolescence. After years of honing their skills and playing at various local gigs, they decided to take their passion to the next level, officially forming Messy Injury in 2015. The name of the band reflects the tumultuous journey they have been through, told through their raw and honest lyrics.

“Stitches and Scars”

Full Song Lyrics:
[Verse 1]
(C-Am-G-D)
I stumbled down a twisted road, (C-Am)
Picking up the pieces of my soul, (G-D)
With a heart that’s patched with duct tape, (C-Am)
And a spirit that refuses to break. (G-D)

[Chorus]
(F-C-G)
Stitches and scars, that’s who we are, (F-C)
We’ve been through hell, but look how far, (G)
We’ve come, with a punk rock beat, (F-C)
And a messy injury we meet. (G)

[Verse 2]
(C-Am-G-D)
We wear our wounds with pride, (C-Am)
No more secrets left to hide, (G-D)
In the rhythm of our sound, (C-Am)
Our truth is finally found. (G-D)

[Chorus]
(F-C-G)
Stitches and scars, that’s who we are, (F-C)
From the crowded bars to being under the stars, (G)
We’ve fought, with every heartbeat, (F-C)
With a messy injury, we’re never beat. (G)

[Bridge]
(Em-D-C)
Yeah, we might be broken, (Em-D)
But our words are spoken, (C)
With a pain that’s real, (Em-D)
And a love you can feel. (C)

[Chorus]
(F-C-G)
Stitches and scars, that’s who we are, (F-C)
We’ve been through the war, now we’re raising the bar, (G)
We won’t retreat, we’re on repeat, (F-C)
With a messy injury, we won’t be beat. (G)
