Backstory:

Equatorial Delay was formed in the balmy coastal town of Santa Marta, Colombia in 2015. The band’s original members: Carlos Moreno (vocals and guitar), Ana Maria Torres (bass), and Santiago Mendez (drums), met during their university years, discovering shared passions for music, philosophy, and the enchanting landscapes that surrounded them. United by these interests, they began making music that reflects their experiences and musings on life, relationships, and the environment. The band’s name, Equatorial Delay, was inspired by the laid-back lifestyle they observed around them, where time seems to move at a different pace – slower, more deliberate – much like their own creative process.

Equatorial Delay’s favorite fan is a young woman from London named Emily who discovered their music during a year abroad in Colombia. Emily fell in love with the band’s music because it reminded her of the sun-kissed days and vibrant culture she experienced in Colombia.
