Backstory: Uneven Swim is an indie-folk band that was formed in the vibrant music scene of Austin, Texas, back in 2015. The four members – singer/guitarist Sam Blake, keyboardist Rachel Martinez, bassist Joe Harris and drummer Jake Dalton – were all childhood friends who grew up in the same neighborhood, bonded over their shared love for music. They used to practice in Blake’s garage, eventually building up a repertoire of original tunes and covers that showcased their distinctive harmonies and poignant lyrics. After making a name for themselves in local venues, they caught the attention of an indie record label who offered them a deal, and their musical journey truly began.

Title: “Driftwood Dreams”
Full song lyrics:
Verse 1: (G, D, Em, C)
Beneath the willow, by the creek,
(G, D, Em, C)
We whispered dreams, in voices meek,
(G, D, Em, C)
Driftwood carried by the stream,
(G, D, Em, C)
Sailing towards the unseen.
Chorus: (Em, D, G, C)
Driftwood dreams, oh how they glide,
(Em, D, G, C)
Beneath the moon, in the night tide.
(Em, D, G, C)
May they find shores where they abide,
(Em, D, G, C)
Those driftwood dreams, oh how they ride.
Verse 2: (G, D, Em, C)
Beneath the stars, in the soft sand,
(G, D, Em, C)
We let go, they left our hand,
(G, D, Em, C)
Driftwood dreams, set them free,
(G, D, Em, C)
In the night, towards the sea.
(Repeat Chorus)

Testimonial: Emily says, “Uneven Swim is more than just a band to me. Their music speaks to me on a deeply personal level. It’s like they’ve taken my thoughts, my fears, my hopes and translated them into song. It’s uncanny sometimes how a specific line or melody can perfectly capture what I’m feeling. I’ve been privileged to watch them grow as artists and individuals, and I can’t wait to see where their journey takes them next. I’m proud to call myself their number one fan.”
