Backstory:
Sweaty Plaintiff had their humble beginnings in the basement of a law firm where all four members worked as paralegals. During their lunch breaks, they would escape to the basement to jam out their frustrations on a mismatched set of instruments they had bought from a local pawn shop. They found solace in music, especially during their long, high-pressure workdays. One day, they were overheard by a lawyer from the firm who happened to be a retired record producer. He immediately recognized their unique sound and potential, and decided to help them break into the music industry. The band quit their paralegal jobs and became full-time musicians. Over the years, Sweaty Plaintiff has evolved into much more than just co-workers playing music to blow off steam. They’re now recognized as a band that’s not afraid to push boundaries and make their voices heard.

(Verse 1)
[G]I’ve been working all day, [C]papers piling high,
[Am]Running on empty, [D]under the sky.
[G]Judge and jury watching, [C]my case is a mess,
I’m just a [Am]hardworking man, [D]seeking redress.
(Chorus)
[G]My motion to dismiss, [C]these chains that bind,
[Am]I won’t be a prisoner, [D]to the daily grind.
[G]My motion to dismiss, [C]this life I resist,
[Am]I want to live free, [D]you get the gist.
(Verse 2)
[G]Courtroom battles, [C]endless nights,
[Am]Longing for peace, [D]in the city lights.
[G]Gavel comes down hard, [C]echoing my plea,
I’m just a [Am]simple man, [D]longing to be free.
(Chorus)
[G]My motion to dismiss, [C]these chains that bind,
[Am]I won’t be a prisoner, [D]to the daily grind.
[G]My motion to dismiss, [C]this life I resist,
[Am]I want to live free, [D]you get the gist.
(Outro)
[G]So here’s my case, [C]here’s my song,
[Am]I’ve been pleading my case, [D]all day long.
[G]My motion to dismiss, [C]let freedom ring,
[Am]This is my life, [D]let me sing.

Tom testifies, “Sweaty Plaintiff’s music is more than just a blend of chords and lyrics. It’s a rallying cry for all those feeling the weight of life’s demands. Their music speaks to me, and I think it speaks to all of us who’ve felt the pressures of a demanding job. It’s the perfect mix of rebellious spirit and heartfelt honesty.
