Thorny Volunteer is an indie rock band that started in the bustling music scene of Austin, Texas, in 2013. Founding members, Seth Johansson and Mia Hawks, were initially rivals, each fronting their respective bands in the local scene. This competitive rivalry quickly turned into a deep musical admiration that eventually led to the formation of Thorny Volunteer.
