Illustrious Carpet

Backstory:

Illustrious Carpet is a dynamic four-piece formed in the cluttered basement of an old Victorian house in the bohemian district of Asheville, North Carolina. The band members, Jebediah (vocals, guitar), Hank (bass, backup vocals), Daisy (keys, violin), and Willis (drums), were all living in the same shared home. They were a strange ensemble drawn together by their shared love for music, thrift shopping, and the irresistible allure of old vintage carpets. Their band name was inspired by an ornate, admittedly weathered, Persian carpet they found at a local flea market — a carpet that quickly became the centerpiece of their jam room.

It wasn’t long before they started recording their impromptu jam sessions and sharing them on social media platforms. Their unique sound, characterized by rich harmonies and enchanting melodies, quickly gained traction, and soon ‘Illustrious Carpet’ became known for their captivating live performances and their distinct sound that blended the old with the new.

“Threads of Time”

Lyrics:

(Verse)
[C] Walking on the [Am] edges of my [F] mind,
[G] Tracing back the [C] threads of time.
[C] Wrapped in the [Am] fabric of our [F] youth,
[G] Weaving through the [C] realms of truth.

(Chorus)
[F] Underneath the [G] illustrious car[C]-pet,
[Am] Lost in patterns [F] complex and deep.
[F] We find the answers [G] we’ve been seeking,
[C] In the echoes of the [G] songs we keep.

(Verse)
[C] Stories spun in [Am] colors bold,
[F] Rich with tales of [G] love untold.
[C] Shadows dance in [Am] woven light,
[F] In the tapestry of [G] day and night.

(Chorus)
[F] Underneath the [G] illustrious car[C]-pet,
[Am] Lost in designs [F] ancient and sweet.
[F] We feel the rhythms [G] of ages past,
[C] In the throb of the [G] music’s beat.
