Backstory:
Qualified Passenger is a band that was formed in the quiet town of Lawrence, Kansas in the late 2000s. The band members, consisting of childhood friends, Jordan Simmons on vocals and guitar, Liam Riley on bass and backup vocals, and Ben Murphy on drums, were drawn to music from a young age, inspired by their parent’s eclectic vinyl collections. They spent their high school years honing their musical skills in their parents’ garages, playing at school functions and local bars. After high school, they decided to keep the band going, balancing day jobs with their passion for music. It was not until they released their debut album, “Journey with No Destination,” in 2013, that their unique sound began to gain national attention.
