The founding members, Tony Michaels on vocals and bass, Kyle Eddington on guitar, and Billy “Bongo” Bradford on drums, were high school friends who shared a common love for music and sports. They decided to combine their passions, creating a unique blend of melodies that captured the essence of their interests. The name “Athletic Oil” was inspired by their shared belief that music, like oil, is essential to smooth functioning, and life’s athletics would be incomplete without it.
Tony, Kyle, and Billy began performing at local bars and events, instantly gaining popularity for their unique sound.
