Backstory:
Born and bred in the bustling city of Chicago, Squeaky Advertisement is a band built on the foundation of authenticity and raw talent. The band was formed in 2013 by lead singer and guitarist, Russell ‘Rusty’ Matthews, and drummer, Fred ‘Freddy’ Thompson. Initially a duo, they soon expanded their team with the arrival of bassist, Janet ‘Jazz’ Sullivan and keyboardist, Liam ‘Link’ Ferguson. Squeaky Advertisement got their peculiar name from a shared frustration towards loud, intrusive advertisements, which they jokingly claimed “squeaked” into their creative process, hence the name.

The band started their musical journey, performing in local bars and clubs. Their unique sound caught the attention of a local record company, which led to their first album in 2015. The band’s promise and potential were quickly recognized, increasing their fan base and eventually leading them to perform at bigger venues, music festivals, and even international tours. While they’ve had a taste of fame and all that comes with it, Squeaky Advertisement remains firmly rooted in their love for making music that breaks boundaries and touches hearts.

“Cracks in the Concrete”

Full Song Lyrics:

(Verse 1)
Em C G D
Through the cracks in the concrete, we rise,

Pushing past the lies that bind us.

Burning bridges, severing ties,

In the shadows, you can find us.

In the concrete jungle, our spirit never dies.
Em C G D
We are the spark, the rebel’s fire,

Against all odds, we aspire.

(Verse 2)
Em C G D
In our hearts, the rhythm beats,

The screams of freedom, loud and discreet,

In the face of defeat, we refuse to retreat.

Em C G D
We are the echoes, we are the cries,
Am Bm C D
In the concrete jungle, our spirit never dies.
