Parallel Oxygen

Backstory:

Parallel Oxygen was formed in the heart of Seattle, Washington in 2015. Childhood friends Barry Harper (lead vocals and guitar), Mike Ashton (bass), and Thomas Wright (drums) always had a deep passion for music and a unique bond that transcended beyond their ordinary lives right into the magic of rhythm and sound. Their love for music was as essential to them as oxygen, hence the name Parallel Oxygen. They started off by performing at local bars and college festivals, gaining popularity for their profound lyrics and intense stage performances. Their big break came when a well-known music producer happened to attend one of their gigs and was so impressed that he immediately signed them on for their first album.

(Verse 1)
[G] Staring at the [D] empty street, [Em] under the neon [C] light
[G] I’m lost in the [D] rain of memories, [Em] on this silent [C] night
[G] Remembering the [D] times, we used to [Em] laugh and [C] fight
[G] Our dreams were [D] young, the world was [C] ours, everything seemed [D] right

(Chorus)
[G] Rain of memories [D] falling down
[Em] Wash away my sadness, [C] in this lonely town
[G] I look for you in [D] every sound,
[Em] But you’re no longer [C] here, you’re not [D] around.

(Verse 2)
[G] The echo of your [D] laughter, still [Em] lingers in the [C] air
[G] The phantom of your [D] touch, it’s more than I [Em] can bear [C]
[G] The scent of your [D] perfume, it [Em] takes me back in [C] time
[G] To when you were [D] mine, before this [C] uphill climb [D]

(Chorus)
[G] Rain of memories [D] falling down
[Em] Wash away my sadness, [C] in this lonely town
[G] I look for you in [D] every sound,
[Em] But you’re no longer [C] here, you’re not [D] around.

Their music speaks to me on a personal level, it’s as if they’re singing my thoughts and emotions. The song ‘Rain of Memories’ in particular is my absolute favorite. It’s a beautiful, heart-wrenching song that perfectly encapsulates the feeling of longing and nostalgia. Barry’s voice coupled with Mike’s bass and Thomas’s drums create an enchanting melody that resonates with my soul. Parallel Oxygen isn’t just a band, they’re storytellers, performers, and above all, they’re artists who’ve discovered the perfect synergy between rock and emotions. Their music is as essential to me as oxygen itself.”
