Backstory:
Purple Meat formed in 2003, when a group of disillusioned office workers in Chicago decided they needed a radical change in their lives. They all shared a passion for music and a deep dissatisfaction with the corporate world. So, they quit their jobs, acquired some instruments, and started jamming in a renovated garage. The band consists of lead vocalist and bassist Alex Brady, guitarist and backup singer Ryan Marsh, drummer Mark Fenway, and keyboardist and saxophonist Steve Adler. The name ‘Purple Meat’ came from a late-night brainwave from Adler, who had a dream about a purple steak, symbolizing their mission – to be something different, unconventional, yet compelling.
Genre:
Purple Meat’s genre is a versatile fusion of blues-rock and experimental jazz.
Song Title:
“Concrete Jungle Rhythm”
Full song lyrics:
(Verse 1)
Dm7 G7
Wandering through the concrete jungle at night,
Cmaj7 F7
Chasing neon lights, seeking what feels right.
Dm7 G7
Lost in the rhythm, the city’s heartbeat,
Cmaj7 F7
Feeling like a stranger on the main street.
(Chorus)
Dm7 G7
Concrete jungle rhythm, take me home,
Cmaj7 F7
To a place where my restless heart can roam.
Dm7 G7
Underneath the stars, among the city’s dome,
Cmaj7 F7
Concrete jungle rhythm, you’re my tome.
(Verse 2)
Dm7 G7
Streaks of color paint the midnight canvas,
Cmaj7 F7
The city whispers stories both joyous and haneous.
Dm7 G7
In the hum of the traffic, the murmur of dreams,
Cmaj7 F7
I find my peace, in the city’s silent screams.
(Chorus)
Dm7 G7
Concrete jungle rhythm, take me home,
Cmaj7 F7
To a place where my restless heart can roam.
Dm7 G7
Underneath the stars, among the city’s dome,
Cmaj7 F7
Concrete jungle rhythm, you’re my tome.
