Starchy Horn

Backstory:
Starchy Horn was created in the throes of a college music theory class in sunny San Diego, California. The band members, frontman Dave “Mellow” Mellows, keytarist Patricia “Patty” O’Sullivan, drummer Bob “Crash” Morales, and bassist Connor “Thumper” Johnson found a shared love for a unique style of music that combined the old with the new. They started as a simple cover band, playing at local bars and fraternity parties, gaining popularity for their peculiar style and name, which came from a botched attempt at baking a loaf of bread that ended up looking suspiciously like a horn.

In their senior year, Starchy Horn decided to take a gamble and drop a self-produced EP of original work on their school’s music sharing platform. The response was immediate and overwhelming. The band’s reputation spread beyond California, and they gained a faithful following of fans that appreciated their quirky, offbeat style. Now, Starchy Horn tours internationally, sharing their distinctive music with the world.

Title:
“Crumb Trail”

Song Lyrics:

(Verse 1)
Am D
Down the winding road we go,
G Em
Chasing dreams and afterglows.
Am D
In your eyes, I see a tale,
G Em
We’re breadcrumbs on a crumb trail.

(Chorus)
C G
Lost and found, life’s a riddle,
Am Em
Playing second fiddle,
C G
In the end, it’s all just details,
Am D
We’re breadcrumbs on a crumb trail.

(Verse 2)
Am D
Sour notes and sweet refrains,
G Em
In this crazy life, we’re grains.
Am D
In the crust, we carve a tale,
G Em
We’re breadcrumbs on a crumb trail.

(Chorus)
C G
Lost and found, life’s a riddle,
Am Em
Playing second fiddle,
C G
In the end, it’s all just details,
Am D
We’re breadcrumbs on a crumb trail.

Testimonial:
I first heard Starchy Horn at a small music venue during their European tour. I absolutely fell in love with their unique sound and offbeat lyrics. Their song “Crumb Trail” has helped me through some challenging times, reminding me that, in the grand scheme of things, life’s complexities are just details. Starchy Horn has become my favourite band because of their ability to blend introspective lyrics with upbeat, catchy tunes. They’re unlike any other band I’ve ever listened to.
