Backstory:
Advanced Separation was formed in the dorm rooms of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2009. The founding members, Aaron ‘Ace’ Copeland, a talented drummer, and Barry ‘Baz’ Jenkins, a genius guitarist, met in their freshman year, bonding over a shared love for music and an unusual interest in quantum physics. They began jamming together, mixing their love for science into their lyrics, which led to the creation of their unique brand of music.
Through local gigs, the duo attracted the attention of bassist, Zoe ‘Zed’ McDonald, and keyboardist, Oliver ‘Oz’ Williams. Together, they officially formed Advanced Separation, combining their scientific knowledge with their musical prowess to create a new genre of music that was both intellectually stimulating and sonically pleasing.
