Imperturbable Giant was formed in 1975 in the heart of Brooklyn, New York. The four band members, John “Thunder” Cooper, Mike “Lightning” Strauss, Paul “Blizzard” McKenna, and Brian “Typhoon” Higgins, all met in high school, united by a shared love for music and a desire to break free from the constraints of their working-class surroundings. Each of them brought a unique strength to the table, shaping the identity of the band. Cooper, the lead vocalist, had a voice that could shake mountains, while Strauss and McKenna’s guitars brought the thunder and lightning.
