Agitated Teaching

1. Backstory:
Agitated Teaching was formed in 2012 in the heart of London, England. The founding members, Lewis and Oscar, met in a local pub and discovered they shared similar tastes in music and shared a mutual disdain for their day jobs as high school teachers. The frustrations they faced in their teaching careers, their love for music and a lingering sense of unfulfilled potential led them to form ‘Agitated Teaching.’ Their late-night jam sessions in Lewis’s basement gradually evolved into a full-fledged band, which later included more members: Elliot on drums, Hannah on bass and Rebecca on keyboards.

Agitated Teaching’s music serves as a cathartic release for their shared experiences in the classroom, channeling their daily frustrations into powerful, provocative lyrics and energetic performances. Over the years, the band has cultivated a loyal following of fans who share the band members’ disillusionment with the status quo and their desire for change.

3. Song Title: “Lesson Plan Anarchy”

4. Song Lyrics:

(Verse 1)
In the halls of education, where minds are meant to grow,
We’re just robots teaching compliance, with nothing to show.
Drill ’em with facts, fill ’em with stats, but what do they really know?
Oh, the system’s failing, can’t you see, it’s time to overthrow.

(Chorus)
Lesson plan anarchy, tear the textbooks apart,
Look past the grades, look into the heart.
The school bell rings, it’s time to start,
Lesson plan anarchy, let the revolution start.

(Verse 2)
In the grip of bureaucracy, creativity dies,
Equal chances, empty stances, tell me, where’s the prize?
Chasing deadlines, chasing grades, under surveillance eyes,
Oh, it’s time to break the chains, it’s time to realize.

(Chorus)
Lesson plan anarchy, tear the textbooks apart,
Look past the grades, look into the heart.
The school bell rings, it’s time to start,
Lesson plan anarchy, let the revolution start.

(Bridge)
Rise up students, rise up teachers, can’t you see,
It’s not about the syllabus, it’s about being free.
Question everything, let your voices ring,
In this lesson plan anarchy, let freedom sing.

(Chorus)
Lesson plan anarchy, tear the textbooks apart,
Look past the grades, look into the heart.
The school bell rings, it’s time to start,
Lesson plan anarchy, let the revolution start.
