1. Backstory
Formed in 2015, Concerned Animal is an indie folk band hailing from the outskirts of Asheville, North Carolina. Its members, lead singer and guitarist Luke Donovan, drummer Mandy Riddle, and violinist Theo Wright, were all animal rights activists before they decided to use music as a means to advocate for animal welfare. They met at a local animal rescue centre and quickly discovered their shared passion for music. Their strong bond and collective desire to address the issues faced by animals around the world led to the creation of Concerned Animal.
Concerned Animal has since made waves in the indie scene with their thought-provoking lyrics and soulful sound. They have released two full-length albums, both of which have been praised for their emotional depth and powerful messages. As advocates for animal rights, they donate a portion of their album sales to various animal welfare organizations. Their dedication to their cause has earned them a loyal fanbase, who appreciate not just their music, but also their passion and commitment to making a difference.

“Silent Roar”
4. Full Song Lyrics
Verse 1:
In the heart of the jungle, beneath the ancient boughs,
Lies a beast with a heart that’s been silenced now,
His realm usurped, his silence profound,
The king of the jungle, now wears no crown.
Chorus:
Hear the silent roar, echoing in the wild,
Begging for mercy from mother nature’s child,
As the ivory hunters close in for the kill,
Can we not hear the silent roar, pleading still?
Verse 2:
In the deep blue ocean, where the sunlight fades,
Dwells a creature, scarred by countless blades,
His family destroyed, his home turned to dread,
A silent scream from the ocean’s bed.
Bridge:
Can’t you hear their cries, echo through the night?
Their silent pleas for help, hidden from sight,
Will we rise and heed their desperate call,
Or let the curtain on their existence fall?
Chorus:
Hear the silent roar, echoing in the wild,
Begging for mercy from mother nature’s child,
As the oil spills smother life’s sweet song,
Can we still ignore the silent roar, all along?
Outro:
In our hearts let’s find, compassion deep and pure,
For the voiceless souls, their pain we must endure,
Let their silent roar, find a voice in you and me,
For in their liberty, lies our humanity.
