1. Backstory:

Crowded Ratio was formed in a gritty, industrial suburb of New York City in 2003. The trio, consisting of childhood friends, Alex Jameson (lead vocals and guitar), Sammie Thompson (bass), and Chris “Chips” Farrow (drums), all shared a common passion for music that transcended the boundaries of genre. Inspired by the likes of Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Radiohead, they combined their disparate musical influences to create a unique sound that was equal parts rock, alternative, and punk. Despite their humble beginnings playing in local bars and open mic nights, their intense live performances and unique blend of genres quickly gained them a strong local following.

The name “Crowded Ratio” came from their shared philosophy of life that it’s the confluence of different experiences, perspectives, and influences that makes life, and music, rich and worthwhile. Their music reflects this philosophy, with songs that are often energetic and bold, yet also introspective and emotive, exploring the complexities of human relationships, personal growth, and life’s ups and downs.
