Exhausted Payment

1. Backstory:
Exhausted Payment is a band born from the ashes of the 2008 financial crisis. Comprised of four ex-Wall Street bankers – Jake “Pennies” Patterson on vocals, Eddie “Equity” Evans on guitar, Barry “Bonds” Baldwin on bass, and Terry “Trade” Thompson on drums – the band was born out of their shared disillusionment with the corporate world and their mutual passion for music. After losing their jobs in the economic meltdown, they decided to channel their experiences into creating music that would give voice to their frustrations and reflections.

Exhausted Payment started off in grimy Manhattan bars, their raw lyrics and sound soon grabbing the attention of struggling middle-class workers who found solace in their music. Their “from suits to boots” transformation gained them a cult following, leading to the release of their debut album “Default” in 2012. Over the years, their music has resonated with people from all walks of life dealing with the aftermath of the financial slump.

3. Song Title:
“Broke Not Broken”

4. Full Song Lyrics:

(Verse 1)
Stripped off suits, left bare in blues,
In the heart of Wall Street, we paid our dues.
Lost in numbers, we found our tune,
In the echoes of struggle, beneath the moon.

(Chorus)
We’re broke, not broken, our spirit’s still alive,
In whispers of the wind, and in the city’s strife.
In the grind and grit, in the heart’s unspoken,
Yeah, we’re broke, not broken, our spirit’s still alive.

(Verse 2)
Stocks have fallen, but we rise,
Against the backdrop of empty lies.
Penniless pockets, wealth in words,
In the rhythm of reality, our voice is heard.

(Chorus)
We’re broke, not broken, our heart’s still in the fight,
In the depth of darkness, seeking the light.
In the echoes of the empty, in the truth unspoken,
Yeah, we’re broke, not broken, our heart’s still in the fight.

(Bridge)
In the heart of the city, beneath the towering might,
We found our rhythm, in the dead of the night.
In every cent lost, in every word spoken,
We’re broke, not broken, our spirit’s still alive.

(Chorus)
We’re broke, not broken, our dreams still take flight,
In the silence of the stars, in the quiet of the night.
In the hush of the hopeless, in the promises broken,
Yeah, we’re broke, not broken, our dreams still take flight.

(Outro)
From Wall Street to Main, we share our pain,
In the rhythm of the rain, we sing again.
Yes, we’re broke, not broken, and this is our token,
A melody forged in fire, a truth ever spoken.
