1. Backstory:
Formed in 2003, Messy Correspondent is an eclectic group of five talented musicians who found each other in the bustling, music-filled streets of Austin, Texas. The band was created out of a mutual appreciation for each other’s craft and the shared ambition to bring something unique to the music scene. Their name, Messy Correspondent, was ironically derived from their early attempts to coordinate their schedules and artistic differences via countless, confusing email threads.
The band’s journey to stardom was far from straightforward. They spent countless nights performing in local bars, honing their unmistakable, edgy sound and building a dedicated fanbase. Their big break came in 2007 when their rebellious spirit caught the attention of indie label, Kettle Records, who offered them their first recording contract.

3. Song Title: “Letters in the Rain”
4. Full Song Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
In the backstreets of my mind, you’re still around,
In every corner, every sound,
I search high and low, through every town,
But your echo is the only thing I’ve found.
(Chorus)
Letters in the rain, ink begins to fade,
Words we never said, in the twilight’s shade,
I’m just a messy correspondent, in this masquerade,
Lost in the letters, love we never made.
(Verse 2)
Underneath the neon lights, I write your name,
With every heartbeat, feels the same,
Promises we whispered, they’re all to blame,
Sealed with kisses, in this wicked game.
(Chorus)
Letters in the rain, passion starts to wane,
Our love story, seems inane,
Like a messy correspondent, bearing all the strain,
Lost in the letters, love lost in vain.
(Bridge)
We used to dance, under the moonlight glow,
Now the music’s gone, and so is the show,
I’m left with letters, words that overflow,
Where you are, I’ll never know.
(Chorus)
Letters in the rain, love becomes a chain,
Like a messy correspondent, drenched in pain,
Lost in the letters, waiting for the train,
That takes me back to you, again and again.
