1. Backstory:
Born in the edgy, grunge-filled basement of a rundown building on Manhattan’s Lower East Side, Silky Leg came into existence in the summer of 2009. Childhood buddies, Peter “Percussion” Paulson and Bobby “Bass” Baxter began experimenting with sounds in their infancy, using pots, pans, and whatever they could find to create unique rhythms. It was not until college, where they met the eccentric guitarist, Larry “Licks” Livingston and the soulful vocalist, Sally “Silk” Saunders, that Silky Leg began to take shape. They found a common love for grunge music with its raw and gritty sound, mixed with their own unique blend of blues and punk rock.
2. Music Genre:
Silky Leg identifies itself as a Grunge-Blues band with a dash of Punk Rock.
3. Song Title:
“Barefoot on Broken Glass”
4. Full Song Lyrics with Chord Progression:
(Verse 1) [Am]
Barefoot on Broken Glass,
[G]
Walking through shadows of the past,
[F]
Feeling the sting, the pain won’t last,
[Am]
As memories slip into the vast.
(Chorus) [C]
In the heart of the city’s haze,
[G]
We count the cost of our yesterdays,
[Am]
Barefoot on broken glass we gaze,
[F]
Finding peace in the murky maze.
(Verse 2) [Am]
Navigating through time and space,
[G]
In the mirror, a stranger’s face,
[F]
Life, a relentless rat race,
[Am]
Leaving behind a smoky trace.
(Chorus) [C]
In the heart of the city’s haze,
[G]
We count the cost of our yesterdays,
[Am]
Barefoot on broken glass we gaze,
[F]
Finding peace in the murky maze.
(Outro) [Am]
Barefoot on broken glass,
[G]
Walking through shadows of the past,
[F]
Feeling the sting, the pain won’t last,
[Am]
As memories slip into the vast.
