Staid Discount

Backstory:
Staid Discount started as a high school garage band in the outskirts of Seattle, Washington, in the late 1990s. The four members—lead vocalist and guitarist Sam Davies, bassist Billy Kent, drummer Rick Thompson, and keyboardist and backing vocalist Jenna Foster—grew up in the same neighborhood, bonding over their mutual love for music. Their friendship and shared passion saw them through a series of basement performances, local gigs, and eventually led to a record deal with a small indie label. They decided on the name Staid Discount as a cheeky comment on their roots – they were straightforward, no frills, and their music was a ‘discounted’ version of the flashier mainstream rock.
