Backstory:
Unwitting Thousand was formed in the heartland of Nashville in 2010. It started as a group of high school friends, who were just looking for a way to channel their shared passion for music. The band consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Jake Thompson, lead guitarist Andy Harper, bassist and backup vocalist Matt Whitmore, and drummer Chris Allen. They started out playing at local venues and soon began to gather a modest following. Their unique sound and charismatic performances earned them a recording contract with a major record label in 2013. Since then, the band has released three successful albums and toured all over the world.

“Echoes of Yesterday”
Full song lyrics:
(Verse 1)
[G] Staring at the [C] rearview of my [G] life,
[D] Lost in the [Em] echoes of [C] yesterday.
[G] Chasing dreams and [C] shooting stars,
[D] Wondering how I [Em] ended up this [C] way.
(Chorus)
[D] Echoes of [G] yesterday,
[C] If I could, I’d [D] run away.
[G] Back to the [Em] innocence,
[C] Driven by a [D] youthful bliss.
(Verse 2)
[G] Broken roads and [C] bridges burned,
[D] Learned how to [Em] laugh, learned how to [C] cry.
[G] Every turn, a [C] lesson learned,
[D] Still, echoes of [Em] yesterday [C] pass by.
(Chorus)
[D] Echoes of [G] yesterday,
[C] They haunt me in the [D] darkest way.
[G] Wish I could [Em] turn back time,
[C] To when your hand was [D] still in mine.
(End)
[G] But here I stand, in the [C] echoes of [D] yesterday,
[G] Learning to [Em] love, learning to [C] fight,
[G] Echoes of [C] yesterday, [G] fading in the [C] night.
