Backstory:
An unlikely group of friends, Merry Cow came to life during a community farming event in the Midwest. The band includes lead singer and guitarist Jerry “Jug” Hansen, a former dairy farmer, drummer Billy “Bones” O’Reilly, an erstwhile tractor repairman, and bassist Susie “Sassy” Parker, a retired schoolteacher. United by their love for music and their rural roots, they decided to form an alternative folk band, bringing a fresh perspective to the genre with their unique farm-themed lyrics and earthy sound.
During their initial months, the trio played at local pubs and farm events, soon gathering a following with their distinctive style. Their charisma and camarity, along with their musical talent, quickly helped them gain popularity throughout the region. Their songs, filled with tales of rural life and love, connected with people on a profound level, making Merry Cow a beloved name in the Midwest.

Favorite Fan:
Our most avid fan is Sally McAllister, a 60-year-old retired nurse from Kansas. Here’s what she has to say about Merry Cow:
“Merry Cow takes me back to my roots. Their songs remind me of the carefree days I spent running through the fields as a child and the warm sense of community I always felt in my hometown. I feel a connection with their music; it’s like they’re narrating my own story. Their tunes are a perfect blend of nostalgia and joy, and I find myself humming along every time. They are my favorite band because they make me feel at home, no matter where I am.”
