Prize Fish

Backstory:
Prize Fish was born in the basement of an old fishing shack in coastal Maine. Childhood friends, Hal “Hook” Jensen and Billy “Bait” Macomber, started the band in the summer of 2003. Both shared a love for music and fishing, and wanted to blend their two passions into something unique. After meeting Sally “Sinker” Collins, a talented bassist at a local gig, and luring in drummer Luke “Line” Daniels from a neighboring town, the band was complete. For years they played local bars, beach parties and fishing festivals, gaining a loyal following with their lively performances and engaging fishing-themed songs. Their quirky yet relatable songs resonate with both fishermen and landlubbers alike, offering a fresh and exciting musical perspective on the fishing lifestyle.

Full Song Lyrics:

Verse 1: (C, G, Am, E)
I’m just a sailor with a melody, (C, G)
Rocking on the ocean’s lullaby. (Am, E)
With my rod, and my reel, (C, G)
And my old rusty keel, (Am, E)
I’m waiting for a bite under the sky. (C, G, Am, E)

Chorus: (F, C, G)
Hook, line, & sinker, (F, C)
You’ve got me falling deeper, (G)
Into your azure eyes. (F, C)
With every tug, I feel the tug of your love, (G)
You’re my prize fish in disguise. (F, C, G)

Verse 2: (C, G, Am, E)
The tide is high, and so am I, (C, G)
Captivated by your salty smile. (Am, E)
With your scales of gold, (C, G)
And stories yet untold, (Am, E)
You make every nautical mile worthwhile. (C, G, Am, E)

(Repeat Chorus)

With every cast, make this moment last, (F, C)
You’re the perfect catch, no denial. (G)

Testimonial:
“I’ve been a fan of Prize Fish since their very first gig at The Bait and Tackle. Their music is a perfect blend of my two greatest loves – fishing and rock! I love their unusual yet relatable songs. ‘Hook, Line, & Sinker’ is my all-time favorite; it’s like a sea shanty and a love song had a baby. Being a fisherman myself, their music resonates with me on a personal level. It’s like they’re singing my life with their words. No other band can reel me in like Prize Fish!”
